শীতার্ত মানুষের প্রতি সমাজের সামর্থ্যবান ও বিত্তশালীদের সাহায্য ও সহানুভূতির হাত সম্প্রসারিত করা প্রয়োজন। পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে শীতবস্ত্র সরবরাহ করে সাধ্যমতো শীতার্তদের পাশে দাঁড়ানো দরকার। নিঃস্বার্থভাবে বিপদগ্রস্ত মানুষের সাহায্য ও সেবা করা মানবধর্ম। এ মহৎ ও পুণ্যময় কাজ সর্বোত্তম ইবাদত। আমাদের চারপাশে যেসব অসহায় মানুষ রয়েছে, তাদের অনেকেরই শীত নিবারণ করার মতো গরম কাপড় কেনার সামর্থ্য নেই। আমরা সামর্থ্যবানরা ইচ্ছা করলেই পারি এই অসহায় মানুষদের পাশে দাঁড়াতে। স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ বলেছিলেন, ‘জীবে প্রেম করে যেই জন, সেই জন সেবিছে ঈশ্বর’। একজন মানুষের জীবন তখনই সার্থক হয়, যখন সে মানবসেবায় নিজেকে বিলিয়ে দেয়। তাই অসহায় শীতার্ত মানুষদের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর জন্য আমরা গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকার কর্তৃক অনুমোদিত একটি স্বেচ্ছাসেবী নিবন্ধিত সংস্থা ‘”সার্বজনীন মানবসেবা সমাজ উন্নয়ন সংস্থা” নামের একটি সেচ্ছাসেবক দল শীত বস্ত্র বিতরণের উদ্যোগ হাতে নিয়েছি। আমরা এই শীতার্ত অসহায় মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়াতে চাই। কিন্তু আমাদের পক্ষে একা তা করা সম্ভব নয়। তাই এই কার্যক্রমকে সফল করার জন্য সকলের আন্তরিকতা এবং একাগ্রতা আমাদের এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে সাহায্য করবে।
